What should I do with my hair while getting a massage?

I am going to a spa day event for my friend’s wedding. I have long hair and I don’t know if I should leave it down or put it up while getting a deep tissue massage? I don’t want to get oil in my hair, but they might do a scalp massage? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Put it up in a loose bun. Or wear it down a bring a hair tie with you….so you can put it up if you need to.

just put it in a quick bun and if they do a scalp massge take it out

Most spas work with you BUT you have to communicate you desires. Most of the time a scalp massage would be included and you need to let them know your concern about getting oil in your hair.

Frankly as massage is about enjoying – not worrying. It is supposed to be about surrounding to pleasure rather than daily concerns. I know long hair is pain to get dry again and certainly you can put it up, but most places have shower facilities and if it is a complete spa with hair care as some are then it might be worth paying a bit extra and getting it washed and afterwords and not worrying about the oil. Most women absolutely love the scalp massage as the head is what I often refer to as one of those neglected areas of the body that absolutely purr with proper attention

In any case I hope you enjoy this time

Just ask the therapist to keep the oil out of your hair and skip the scalp massage. They hear it frequently, and will be happy to accommodate you.

Put it up with a hair tie. It makes it easier to avoid for your massage therapist. Also, as far as scalp massage is concerned, tell them before you start that you would prefer no scalp massage and to avoid getting oil or lotion in your hair, they will avoid doing so for you. Just make sure they are aware of your wishes before you get started.
